"Your breath is your anchor. It is the one tool you always have with you."

Breathing is the bridge between your conscious mind and your autonomic nervous system — the one lever you can deliberately pull to shift your body's state from tension to calm. This session introduces the two core breathing techniques used throughout hypnobirthing: a slow, rhythmic breath for general relaxation and the space between surges, and a focused, sustained breath for riding the surges themselves. Think of this session as your daily training ground — the place where these patterns become so familiar that they are available to you instinctively when labour begins.

When to listen

  • As a daily practice to master the techniques.
  • During Braxton Hicks.
  • Whenever you feel stressed.
  • To learn the difference between 'Up' and 'Down' breathing.

What you'll practice

  • Practicing the long, slow inhale through the nose.
  • Extending the exhale to release tension.
  • Using breath to ground yourself instantly.
  • Learning to breathe into your abdomen.
This session is designed to support relaxation and preparation. It is not medical care and does not replace guidance from healthcare professionals.
