"Fear is just a thought. You can acknowledge it, and then let it float away."

We all carry fears about birth — absorbed from stories we have heard, images we have seen, and sometimes our own previous experiences. These fears do not have to be resolved or proven wrong; they simply need to be acknowledged and gently released. This session provides a safe, contained space to look at your fears without being overwhelmed by them, using the imagery of balloons, clouds, or leaves on a stream to hold the fear lightly and then let it go. Each time you practise releasing, the fear loses a little of its grip — and the space it occupied fills, gradually and naturally, with something quieter and more useful.

When to listen

  • When a specific worry keeps coming up.
  • If you are fixating on 'what ifs'.
  • To clear the slate before birth.
  • When you feel weighed down by anxiety.

What you'll practice

  • Naming the fear gently.
  • Wrapping it in a balloon or leaf.
  • Watching it drift away until it disappears.
  • Filling the empty space with confidence.
This session is designed to support relaxation and preparation. It is not medical care and does not replace guidance from healthcare professionals.
